This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is processed when you visit, register for or participate in Human Patterns.

1. Data Controller

Human Patterns is operated by:

Sanomed international LTD
UIC/EIK: 822115372
9 Petnadeseta Street, Menenkiovo, Bulgaria
Email: sanomed@vetom.bg

Sanomed international LTD is the data controller for personal data processed through Human Patterns.

2. What Personal Data We May Process

Account and registration data

When you create an account, we may process information such as:

  • email address;
  • username;
  • display name;
  • profile information you choose to provide;
  • account status and registration information;
  • authentication and account-security information.

Passwords are handled through the WordPress authentication system and are not stored as readable plain-text passwords.

Community content

When you participate in Human Patterns, we process the content and related information you choose to submit, including:

  • posts and replies;
  • questions, stories and comments;
  • selected topic or category;
  • publication date and time;
  • the public identity option selected for a publication.

Anonymous posting

Human Patterns may allow registered members to publish using an Anonymous option.

Anonymous posting is anonymous to other visitors and members, not to authorized administrators. The system may retain an internal association between an Anonymous publication and the registered account that created it. This is used for moderation, security, abuse prevention and legal compliance.

The account identity connected to an Anonymous publication is not intended to be displayed publicly to other members.

Technical and security information

When you access the website, our systems may process technical information necessary for operating and protecting the service, such as:

  • IP address;
  • browser and device information;
  • requested pages and URLs;
  • date and time of requests;
  • server and security logs;
  • login and authentication information;
  • cookies or similar technical identifiers where applicable.

Communications

If you contact us, we may process your email address, the contents of your message and information necessary to respond to your request.

We may also use your email address to send operational messages necessary for your account, such as registration, activation, password-reset or security-related emails.

3. Why We Process Personal Data

We process personal data for purposes including:

  • creating and maintaining user accounts;
  • providing access to community participation features;
  • publishing content according to the identity option selected by the member;
  • sending account activation and other necessary service emails;
  • moderating discussions;
  • preventing spam, fraud, misuse and security incidents;
  • maintaining and improving the technical operation of the website;
  • responding to requests and exercising user rights;
  • complying with applicable legal obligations.

4. Legal Bases for Processing

Depending on the purpose, personal data may be processed on one or more of the following legal bases under Regulation (EU) 2016/679:

  • Performance of a contract or steps requested before entering into a contract — where processing is necessary to create and operate your account and provide the community functionality you request;
  • Legitimate interests — where necessary for moderation, website security, prevention of abuse, protection of the community and reliable operation of the service, provided that these interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms;
  • Legal obligation — where processing is required by applicable law;
  • Consent — where we specifically ask for consent, including where consent is required for optional cookies or similar technologies.

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

5. Sensitive Personal Data and Health Information

Human Patterns is a public discussion community. Some conversations may relate to personal experiences, emotions, stressful events or body awareness.

Please consider carefully before publishing information about your health, mental health, sexuality, beliefs or other sensitive aspects of your private life.

If you voluntarily include such information in a public post or reply, the information may become publicly accessible because you have chosen to publish it.

Human Patterns does not require members to provide medical records, diagnoses or other health information in order to create a standard account.

Human Patterns is not a medical service, and community content should not be used as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

6. Public Information

Human Patterns is designed so that public community content can be read by visitors without an account.

Information you publish publicly may therefore be visible to:

  • registered members;
  • visitors who are not logged in;
  • people who receive a link to the publication;
  • search engines or other online services where indexing is permitted.

Before publishing personal information, consider whether you are comfortable making that information public.

7. Service Providers and Recipients

We may use service providers necessary to operate Human Patterns, including providers of:

  • website hosting and server infrastructure;
  • email delivery;
  • website software and technical maintenance;
  • security and abuse prevention;
  • website statistics and analytics, where enabled;
  • translation functionality, where enabled.

Such providers may process personal data only to the extent necessary for the relevant service and subject to applicable data-protection requirements.

We may also disclose information where required by law, a competent authority or where reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

8. International Data Transfers

If a service provider processes personal data outside the European Economic Area, we will rely on an applicable lawful transfer mechanism and safeguards required by European Union data-protection law.

Further information about specific third-party technologies and cookies used by the website will be provided in our Cookie Policy.

9. How Long We Keep Personal Data

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.

The retention period or criteria depend on the type of information and may include:

  • the period during which an account remains active;
  • the period during which published community content remains available;
  • the time necessary to respond to requests or disputes;
  • security and abuse-prevention requirements;
  • applicable legal, accounting or regulatory obligations;
  • technical backup and system-maintenance cycles.

Information may be retained for a longer period where necessary to comply with law, protect legal rights, investigate abuse or resolve disputes.

10. Account and Content Removal

You may contact us to request deletion of your account or personal data.

Depending on the circumstances, deleting an account does not necessarily require immediate deletion of every record. Some information may need to be retained where required by law, necessary for security or legal claims, or temporarily present in technical backups.

Requests concerning published posts or replies will be assessed in accordance with applicable data-protection law and the rights and freedoms of other persons.

11. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Human Patterns uses technical functionality necessary for the website, login and account operation and may use additional statistics, analytics or translation technologies.

Where applicable law requires consent for a non-essential technology, it will not be activated on the basis of consent until the required choice has been made.

Detailed information about the technologies currently used, their purposes and available choices will be provided in the Cookie Policy.

12. Your Data Protection Rights

Subject to the conditions and limitations of applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • request access to your personal data;
  • request correction of inaccurate personal data;
  • request erasure of personal data;
  • request restriction of processing;
  • object to certain processing based on legitimate interests;
  • receive certain personal data in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
  • lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection supervisory authority.

To exercise your rights, contact sanomed@vetom.bg. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request in order to protect account and personal-data security.

13. Supervisory Authority

If you believe that your personal data has been processed unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

In Bulgaria, the supervisory authority is:

Commission for Personal Data Protection (CPDP)
2 Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov Blvd.
Sofia 1592, Bulgaria
Email: kzld@cpdp.bg

14. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, disclosure or misuse.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. You are also responsible for protecting your login credentials and choosing an appropriate password.

15. Third-Party Links

Human Patterns may contain links to external websites. Their privacy practices are controlled by their respective operators, and this Privacy Policy does not govern those external services.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, technologies or legal obligations change. The current version and its latest update date will be published on this page.
